Qatar Foundation has introduced a free Arabic language course titled "Discover Arabic" for its university students at Education City. This initiative is aimed at both native and non-native speakers and is designed to enhance their Arabic language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The course, which combines in-person and online instruction, is available during the academic semester and is facilitated by the Translation and Interpreting Institute of Hamad Bin Khalifa University's College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Firdavs Fayzillaev, a Business Administration student at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar—a QF partner university—shared his experience with the course, highlighting his goal to read and understand the Qur’an. He also noted the surprising discovery of the diversity in Arabic dialects and their cultural significance. Another student, Ibtisam Haseeb from HBKU, found similarities between Arabic and her native Urdu, which enhanced her learning experience.

Dina Mutassem, Academic Programming Lead at QF, emphasized the importance of Arabic proficiency for graduates in today’s globalized world, stating that the course aims to promote cultural integration and provide a deeper understanding of the Arab culture. Both Fayzillaev and Haseeb advocate for other students, especially non-natives in Qatar, to learn Arabic for a richer cultural experience and better integration.
